This collecting of Swedish folk art can be a time consuming hobby. There is always lots of research to do, dating objects as well tracing down their history and carefully displaying them can take a lot of time. It is always a good idea to take photos of every piece and store those photos on a separate hard drive or memory card somewhere other than where the objects are stored in case of emergency. Eurotreasure.net photographs all objects at time of arrival where they are given an in-house serial number. The amount of antiques arriving daily is staggering.

Ebay seller eurotreasure - the competition for Swedish market share.

Why not study what the competition does in the online market place? Small and medium sellers, be it ebay or direct website interaction, need a specific strategy in order to win enough market share to survive, or better yet, earn profit. Our second candidate is texa0_0 - one of ebays most prolific sellers. This ebayer, who shall be named tex for this article,  selling is relentless,  having listings closing almost daily, medium volume. Photos are fair, descriptions are factual and to the point with some cut and paste copy from other sources to describe objects. Overall, nice items with fair prices, ok auctions photos, though tending to look 'far away' or slightly over exposed, almost but not quite foggy, the viewer can get an idea of what they are bidding on. Enough to supply this seller with a constant revenue stream. Overall grade=B+

A sample of the perfectly acceptable photo by tex.

A good ebayer with a large following.        -review by eurotreasure.net

Ebay seller eurotreasure - the competition for Swedish market share.

Why not study what the competition does in the online market place? Small and medium sellers, be it ebay or direct website interaction, need a specific strategy in order to win enough market share to survive, or better yet, earn profit. Our second candidate is molimoy - one of ebays most prolific sellers. Molly, as we call her for this article, seems to just sweep through the thrift shops scooping up everything in site and throwing it up on ebay, even unsorted in lots of 3, 5 and even more pieces for 'grab bag auctions. Molly usually just writes 'beautiful' and 'you will love them' which is probably true. Photos often poorly posed and too dark or blurry, ebay photo system, with it's slowness and clutzyness is perfect for the photos of Molly. Definitely quantity over quality, with quality being subjective for the buyer, people seem to like it, so this is quite an active seller, with decent gross sales, profit being, most likely based on volume. Over all grade=C

One of Molly's best photos on ebay. A whole lot of Swedish doilies for only an opening bid of $13.00.

Summary- Thrift shop selling techiques, high volume seller. - reviewed by eurotreasure.net
There is a boom on Dala horse collecting going on worldwide at the moment, there are lots of new collectors in America, Japan, Australia as well as Sweden herself as the collectors are frantic about collecting the fantastic objects of Swedish folk art, as toys, as works of handcraft, painting and color, as well as the rich and lovely history that is behind the mystic of the Swedish Dala horse.

Why not study what the competition does in the online market place? Small and medium sellers, be it ebay or direct website interaction, need a specific strategy in order to win enough market share to survive, or better yet, earn profit. First we must study the competition and praise and learn from their good points, and learn to bypass the mistakes and negative habits. Our first candidate is awhigse - one of ebays most prolific sellers. Wig, as we nickname him for this article, is bent upon oversell using a variety of narratives in his seller copy, or description, whatever term you like, is prone to very sturdy information facts about an objects history often with a personal quip, narrative or even a mini story to sell his object. Wig's photograhy us nothing short of top notch, clear, good focus, nice lighting and excellent staging of items. Wig should consider using his own server for his photos as the ebay system is clumsy and slow. His Grade = B+

We can see here a nice Wig photo  from ebay, this is a very nice item.

Here is an example of a nice Swedish runner selling for over 3,000 SEK .

A top notch ebay seller, high quality, lower volume.    -review by eurotreasure.net

SWEDISH FLEMISH WOVEN TAPESTRY FINDS A NEW HOME

These are so very rare, an antique Swedish Flemish (Flamsk) woven tapestry c. 1890-1900.
A tapestry in extraordinary condition, would have been carefully stored for a long time as these kinds of tapestries are so prone to fading and damage from being exposed to light and the elements in general.
This type of weaving became popular in Sweden around the 1500's as the influence of the Flemish weavers in the Netherlands was very pronounced on the Swedish artisans and became a very popular style for the aristocracy to own and admire.
Not only the technique, but the subject matter became very important, florals, birds and sometime even figures, which had a special meaning to the creator of the piece, reflecting their family, village or other personal meanings.
The colors are fantastic, the result of vegetable dyes and the effect is subtle and wonderful, especially in a well preserved Flemish weaving.
This is a rare piece of Swedish history and had been in the possession
of only one family, since it was made by a master weaver.
These precious, historical weavings are becoming scarce, as they
are highly sought after and once acquired, are rarely let go.
This Flamsk Vävnad has excellent provenance and was made
in the Southern part of Sweden- the province of Skane.
It was recently acquired by a very serious collector in the United States.
